Beginning Orchestra is open to any student in 5th grade. 6th grade students who did not play an orchestra instrument in 5th grade will also play in this ensemble. Focus of instruction is on playing with proper posture and technique. Students will also learn how to read music on the staff and learn relevant music vocabulary. Participation in this ensemble includes one in-school lesson as well as one after-school rehearsal each week. The Beginning Orchestra performs three concerts per year.
